The first victim named in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas is a fourth grade teacher.
Her name is Eva Mireles according to ABC News. Heavy commits to posting a photo and biography of each victim, as they are known. According to Texas Governor Greg Abbott, speak in a press conference, at least 14 children and a teacher died. However, State Senator Roland Gutierrez later said on CNN that at least 18 children and two adults were killed. The gunman, identified by Abbott as Salvador Ramos, 18, was shot dead by law enforcement at the scene.
The motive isn’t clear, but the mass killing has sparked heated debate across the country about gun control and other issues.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin wrote on Twitter that Annabelle Guadalupe Rodriguez is among the missing. That’s what her father says.
Melugin also wrote, “Texas DPS says school shooter shot his grandmother before going to Robb Elementary and shooting indiscriminately. He had a rifle and was wearing a body armor. Barricaded and exchanged fire with officers. He was eventually killed by a tactical team.”
An unnamed border guard was among the injured. The exact number of injured is not yet known.
He added: “Border Patrol sources tell me that an elite BORTAC Border Patrol agent shot dead the gunman at Robb Elementary School today. I’m told he entered with a tactical team while TX LEOs were busy with barricaded gunners. The agent was injured.”
The shooter also allegedly shot his grandmother, Abbott said. The state senator said on CNN that the grandmother was staying alive.

According to ABC, Mireles was a teacher in the same school district for 17 years.
“I am angry that these shootings are continuing. These children are innocent. Guns shouldn’t be readily available to everyone. This is my hometown, a small community of less than 20,000 people. I never thought this would happen to especially loved ones… All we can do is pray hard for our country, our state, our schools and especially everyone’s families,” Delgado said in a statement. after ABC 7.
