Roy Keane lays claim to Mohamed Salah’s contract stance at Liverpool

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is set to leave in 2023 as things stand – and Roy Keane believes the contract break isn’t about money.
Liverpool today drew 2-2 at Manchester City and came twice from behind to take a point at the Etihad Stadium.
Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane were both on the scoresheet as Salah’s odd form scored another blank.
Salah has not scored in the Premier League from open play since February 19, with his three goals since then coming from the penalty spot.
The Egyptian ultimately has his contract history over him, with speculation over Salah’s long-term future at Liverpool.

Salah, who is out of contract in 2023, can leave the club for absolutely nothing in just over a year.
Liverpool are obviously trying to keep Salah and The mirror claim that a deal worth around £400,000 a week is in the pipeline.
But until that deal is signed – and as Salah continues to struggle for targets – many will be wondering what the future really holds.
Salah has become a Liverpool hero since joining from Roma in 2017, recording 153 goals and 58 assists in 242 games.
Liverpool are approaching their 30th birthday and could fear Salah going back in years to come – and that could play a role in contract negotiations.
Manchester United legend Roy Keane has now shared his thoughts on Salah. tells Sky Sports that he doesn’t think the winger’s attitude has anything to do with money.
Keane believes Salah would actually like something new, such as a move to Spain, having already played in England and Italy.
Keane believes Salah will have suitors in Spain – Barcelona or Real Madrid, one would assume – and even if he’s happy at Liverpool he might still want to leave.
“I don’t think it’s about the money,” Keane said. “Maybe it’s a new experience. I have no doubt that he’s happy, but that idea that it’s all about the money is far from the mark in my opinion. He’s been abroad before, I don’t think it’s about the money, it’s just his passion. Spain would undoubtedly be an option for him,” he added.
