“Teen Mom OG” alum Mackenzie Standifer Edwards showed off a new look via Instagram on April 8, but not everyone liked her new style.

Standifer, 25, wore a black sleeveless shirt, cream jeans and brown wedges. She complemented her look with an oversized beige pentagonal handbag from which she dangled a pair of sunglasses. But it was the baby pink turban on her head that sparked discussion on social media.

“Hello spring 🌼,” Standifer captioned the photo.

When fans on Instagram told her to “lose the turban,” Standifer updated her post on April 9.

“Edit: People have a lot to say about things that deviate from the ‘norm’.” She wrote. “So much time is wasted trying to fit in or be the same. It’s okay to step out of the box and try something new! Sometimes people love it and sometimes they hate it. But I think it’s really cool to be different! Be yourself, own your own style!”

Standifer received praise from Debra Danielsen, mother of former Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham. “Awesomeness 🔥🔥🔥🔥”, wrote Danielsen.

Fans speared Standifer’s alternate look

Standifer might have wanted to embrace a new style, but she didn’t garner brownie points from fans. The majority of people have slammed the mother-of-three for her new looks, particularly targeting her over her headscarf.

“Mack the Fortune Teller,” an original poster shared on Reddit.

“That’s the whitest suburban turban I’ve ever seen lol,” one person called.

“She looks so damn stupid. Nothing fits her flatteringly, and girl, what the hell is up with that turban?!?” Another called.

Some people worried if Standifer was co-opting her facial expression. “That’s on the side of cultural appropriation, no?” one person wrote.

Others mistook Standifer for “Teen Mom 2” alum Cheslea Houska DeBoer. “Wow, I thought that was Chelsea on the roll. I need another eye test 😂”, Said.

Standifer reveals why she married Edwards when he was high

One of the most infamous “Teen Mom OG” moments occurred when MTV cameras caught Edwards driving on the way to his 2017 wedding to Standifer. Struggling to keep his eyes peeled, he swerved off the road, resulting in Standifer – who was wearing her wedding dress – grabbing the steering wheel to keep them from wrecking their vehicle.

Years later, Stanfier opened up about why she went through the rushed marriage.

“May I ask a series question? What made you marry Ryan when he was so high? So high in fact it could have killed you both,” the fan wrote, per a screenshot shared on Reddit on March 15, 2022.

“I was young, confused, nervous and made a very bad decision,” Standifer replied. “I’m so thankful no one got hurt. We made peace with this together a long time ago.”

“It was very hard to go through that, let alone publicly!” She said in another reply, per The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “I wasn’t even sure how to process what happened, let alone my words to describe it. Breaks my heart looking back at it all! Feels like an eternity ago! I feel like Ryan and I have lifted a weight completely off our shoulders.”
