Saints Women’s Betfred Super League Matches For 2023
The SAINTS Women’s 2023 Betfred Super League fixtures have been announced.
In a delicious opening round, the Saints meet 2022 leaders York at LNER Stadium on April 16.
That will set the stage for England’s Mid-Season International against France in Warrington on April 29th and the group stage of the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup will then take center stage for a month before the BWSL with another on Friday 26th May Blockbuster returns at Headingley as Grand Final 2022 winners Leeds Rhinos take on Challenge Cup winners Saints at Headingley (kick-off 17:30).
In Round 3, the Saints meet Wigan on June 11 (1pm) at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
The final round of regular season games takes place over the weekend of 8-10 September, after which the top four of Group One advance to the semi-finals leading up to the Betfred Women’s Super League Grand Final over the weekend of 7-8 October.
BWSL General Manager Thomas Brindle said: “There is more excitement and anticipation than ever for Women’s Rugby League in 2023, following the national impact left by England’s performances at the World Cup.
“For the BWSL to start with a repeat of last year’s Grand Final as part of a double-header at Headingley is another first for the competition and another big stage for many of these England players.
“We welcome three new names to BWSL in 2023 following the renaming of York Valkyrie, the new partnership between Leigh Leopards and Leigh Miners Rangers and the rapid progress the Salford Red Devils have made in their debut season in 2022.
“As Warrington prepares impressively for promotion to Group One, it promises to be the most competitive season yet – and we hope to make more exciting broadcast coverage announcements soon.”
