Schwartz & Sandy release statement on Tom Sandoval affair

Tom Sandoval’s bars are hit by backlash after his affair scandal.

Schwartz & Sandy’s has issued a statement regarding the Tom Sandoval cheating scandal.

The Vanderpump Rules star, who opened the West Hollywood Bar with his best friend Tom Schwartz and two other partners in November 2022 was reportedly caught in a months-long affair with his co-star Raquel Leviss. Sandoval’s infidelity led to the end of his 10-year relationship with Ariana Madix. TMZ reports on March 3, 2023.

In the face of the scandal, staff at Sandoval’s newest bar are feeling the heat.

In an opinion shared on the official Schwartz & Sandy Instagramthe owners wrote that while they “understand the outrage directed against our operations”, they demanded consideration for the employees who were not involved in the scandal.

“Those of us who aren’t famous have put our time, heart and money into making this restaurant a reality,” the statement said. “We too are disappointed with the current situation as Ariana has always been a good friend and huge supporter of the restaurant.”

“We appreciate that you may feel this way, but please understand that others’ livelihoods also depend on this business. There are four other people involved in this company in addition to Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz,” he continued.

The owners urged people not to post negative comments about the business as it affects innocent workers like waiters, cooks and dishwashers who “have nothing to do with this unfortunate situation”.

No statement has been released as of this writing the Instagram page for Tom Tom, the Lisa Vanderpump-owned bar, in which Sandoval and Schwartz also invested.

Fans have threatened to boycott Tom Sandoval’s businesses

The statement came amid 24 hours of social media backlash directed at Sandoval and his business partner. There were also negatives Yelp reviews postedwho appear to be intentionally trying to harm the companies.

Some commenters took offense at the restaurant’s statement.

“Don’t expect the public to care more about your employees than you do. Both Tom and Tom should have thought about it while they were out there living their lives for themselves and not caring who they were leaving behind. This post makes me even more angry,” wrote one commenter.

“We don’t control the toms, so why should we fall on their dagger? Direct your anger at them personally. I have people in this kitchen who don’t even own a TV. They come to work to support families.” came the reply from Schwartz & Sandy’s.

“I wish everyone but those named Tom well, may you all be blessed with better jobs outside of S&S. The effects will be long lasting, thanks Tom for that. He can’t be the face and namesake and expect Bravo fans to show up.” wrote another commenter.

“You have better believe this will hurt your business,” said another commenter wrote on the TomTom Instagram page.

Tom Sandoval announced he’s taking a break from business

Sandoval and its partners have invested heavily in Schwartz & Sandy’s. According to BravoTV.comAt the Season 10 premiere, Sandoval said, “At this point, we’ve invested a million dollars into this project. It’s like the national debt: only numbers fly.” In the episode of March 1, 2023 “No Home to the Wreck” He also revealed that his parents invested $250,000 in the bar.

Amid the backlash, Sandoval broke his silence with his first statement on the situation and announced he was stepping down from the bar temporarily.

In a post shared on InstagramSandoval admitted he “fully” deserves all the anger and disappointment towards him, but he asked critics to please put his friends, family and business associates out of the picture, particularly Schwartz, who he claimed first ” very recently” learned of his leaks and “did not condone his actions”.

“Schwartz and Sandys may have my name on them, but there are also three other partners and 20 employees who are particularly dependent on the restaurant for their income and families,” he added.

Sandoval also apologized to all of his employees and business partners – but not Madix – when he revealed that out of respect for them, he would “step back and take a break.”
