The Seahawks are considering a reunion with center Joey Hunt
One of the most intriguing meetings of the NFL transaction line is visiting the Seahawks’ hosting center Joey Hunt. The Veterans Center played in 14 games for Seattle in 2019, including eight starts. Hunt appeared in 34 games for the Seahawks in his first three NFL seasons before Seattle released the center in the 2020 offseason.
After being cut by the Seahawks, the veteran offensive lineman had several stints with the Colts. Indianapolis released Hunt in January, and it could be an intriguing reunion for Seattle as the team look to potentially add depth to the position. The Seahawks also hosted cornerback Nazir Streater as part of the September 27 meetings.
Carroll on Seahawks Season: “The Future Looks Bright”
Despite the 1-2 start to the season, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll remains optimistic, stressing that “the future looks bright.” When asked to clarify his schedule, Carroll noted that he was specifically talking about how things would change for the rest of this season. The longtime Seahawks coach cited quarterback Geno Smith’s play in the first three games as one of the reasons Seattle has the potential to turn things around.
“Damn yeah [in the] I think we can make progress over the next few weeks,” Carroll noted during his Press conference on September 26th. “These guys can’t help but learn and grow and they’re playing out there and all that and the way we all sum it up.
“If you like the Seahawks, how could you not be blown away by what Geno is [Smith] done. He’s done a great job for us and that’s just one of the factors. But it’s a factor that was a question mark and now you can see it. So, I’m really hooked.”
Seattle travel to Detroit in Week 4 to face off against a Lions team that has made progress since going 3-13-1 in 2021. The Seahawks are a 4.5 point underdog against the Lions according to FanDuel.
