Search! The project inspires trauma patients through art

PHILADELPHIA – Julie Nolan is an art therapist at Jefferson Health Magee, a Rehabilitation Hospital in Philadelphia that specializes in helping people recover from trauma.

Knowing that patients spend a lot of time lying on their backs for therapy, Nolan came up with the idea to start painting the ceiling tiles with an inspirational message so that the patient had something bright and encouraging when exercising.

Project “Look Up!” Allows patients to work together on masterpieces together.

It gives them something fun to do while also improving their motor and cognitive skills through art therapy.

The hospital now has an inspiring ceiling and vibrant colors, thanks to the project!
