Season 2 of Shadows House will be released this summer as the new trailer goes viral

Only a few months after the end of the dramatic anime Shadows House, the release of season 2 of the hit series has now been confirmed in a new trailer.

When the spring anime series launched in April 2021, fans expected great things from series like The Slime Diaries, Tokyo Revengers and My Hero Academia Season 5.

However, not many viewers expected Shadows House to become one of the most interesting series on all of slate, teasing fans with fabulously intriguing characters and a mysterious plot.

This week at the AnimeJapan 2022 event, the Shadows House season 2 release window was finally confirmed along with a brand new teaser trailer.

Shadows House is wasting no time in announcing it season 2

On September 11, 2021, Shadows House officially opened renewed for Season 2 by animation studio CloverWorks.

The announcement was made in front of the Japanese people of the franchise in a special live streaming event in Japan website has uploaded a teaser video for the sequel season, see below:

While the news of Season 2 was universally welcomed, it wasn’t entirely unexpected. Anime renewals usually depend on two factors; Source material and popularity, of which Shadows House has plenty.

According to a report by anime geek, Season 1 Episode 12 adapted to Volume 4 Chapter 47 in the original manga series. The good news is that at the time of writing, ten have been completed manga Volumes with 126 chapters were published in Japan.

Unfortunately, Funimation does not release official viewership figures for their simulcast series, making it difficult to discern Shadows House’s worldwide popularity.

However, the anime has evidently proved popular enough in Japan to merit a second season, with Shadows House currently scoring a solid 7.4/10 IMDB and 7.75/10 respectively MyAnimeList with over 62,000 reviews.

Previously, there had been concerns about Shadows House season 2 as the anime adaptation had not strictly adapted the manga and completely deviated from the script for certain episodes.

This had fans concerned that the extremely popular final parts of the manga would not be adapted. Luckily the author of the manga addressed those concerns and revealed that changes were made specifically because the anime needed to be adjusted to tell the story correctly.

Shadows House season 2 confirmed

It was officially confirmed in a press release on January 5, 2022, via Anime News Networkthat Shadows House season 2 would premiere in July 2022 as part of the summer schedule.

At the AnimeJapan 2022 event, the series released a brand new trailer for the second airing, see below, with the caption “There is still a ‘secret’ in this building.”

Unfortunately, a specific release date was not shared as part of the AnimeJapan 2022 announcement or recent event, but Shadows House is expected to return to its previous programming block in Japan. Therefore, fans can wait for new episodes to air every Sunday in Japan and every Saturday for international fans.

However, fans should know that Season 2 of Shadows House is now likely to be simulcast exclusively on Crunchyroll instead of Funimation, which streamed Season 1.

This is due to the recent merger between the two platforms, with Crunchyroll taking the helm for the simulcasting of all new titles starting from the Spring List.

The anime adaptation was the first revealed premiered in October 2020 and April 2021 as part of the Spring anime panel. Many fans were therefore expecting the series to return in April 2022, but not many of us will complain about the slight deviation from the summer table.

This article will be updated as more information about Shadows House Season 2 is released.
