Sebastien Haller was diagnosed with a testicular tumor

Former West Ham striker Sebastien Haller has been diagnosed with a testicular tumor.

The 28-year-old underwent a medical on Monday after feeling unwell following a training session with Borussia Dortmund, the club said.

A testicular tumor was detected during those examinations, with further tests to be performed at a specialist medical facility in the coming days.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl said: “This news today comes as a shock to Sebastien Haller and all the others.

“The whole BVB family hopes that Sebastien will make a full recovery as soon as possible and we can hug him again.

“We will do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment.”
