Actress and singer Selena Gomez plans to one day retire from her career to focus on being a wife and mother.
The 30-year-old appeared on the Tatatu video podcast “Giving Back Generation” on Friday, PageSix reported.
Speaking to hosts and longtime friends Raquelle Stevens and Ashley Cook about her future dreams, Gomez replied, “I hope to get married and be a mother.”
Continuing, she said, “I’m going to get tired of all this eventually, so I’ll probably spend most of my life doing charity before I go.”
Gomez also talked about her 8-year-old half-sister, Grace Teefy, who put everything into her perspective.
Liz Cheney makes a statement about working with Democrats versus working with Republicans
“I basically have to watch this kid grow up to be a human. There is no better feeling in this world. I feel like a parent in a way, even though I’m not,” she said.
Psalm 127:3 says, “Behold, children are the inheritance of the Lord, a reward for the fruit of the mother’s womb.”
This is not the first time Gomez has spoken about her desire to have a family.
In June, she spoke to Hollywood Reporter’s podcast “Awards Chatter” and shared what she would do if she never left Texas for Hollywood.
“Definitely I will have four children. Maybe unplanned, maybe planned, maybe both. And there’s nothing wrong with the life I’ve led… I just know that’s not my path, and I’m truly grateful that I had my mom give me the chance to be what I want to be, ‘ she said.
In 2013, Gomez spoke in an interview with Ryan Seacrest about whether she wanted to have a large family in the future.
“I don’t know, obviously when the time comes I will decide, but of course I like having a big family,” she said.
