Selena Gomez’s recent comment on one of her photoshoots has sparked an intense debate about body positivity on Twitter.

Though Selena didn’t mention the album’s name, many fans have assumed she was talking about the cover art of her 2015 album revival.

Selena’s sensual black and white shot broke the internet when she first shared it on her social media platforms in 2015.

At that time she told MTV that the picture represented her true self and where she was.

What did the singer say?
It seems Selena’s comments were misunderstood.
Some people on social media felt that Selena had hinted that she wasn’t comfortable in her own skin. The singer was then criticized for saying she was ashamed of what she had done.
But that wasn’t what she meant at all.
When Amy asked the singer if she was sexualized at a young age as she rose to fame through Disney shows, Selena replied, “I actually did an album cover and I was really embarrassed afterwards.”
“I had to process those feelings because I realized they were connected to something deeper that was going on. And it was a decision I wasn’t exactly happy that I made.”
She added that she’s not an “overly sexual person” but does “like to feel sexy” at times. And it doesn’t have to be for others, it could be for themselves.
Fans defend the singer
Many of Selena’s fans have taken to Twitter to hit back at people who completely misinterpreted the singer’s comments.
“Many of you didn’t understand where Selena came from when she talked about the revival cover, but I’ll let you run around with your little false narratives and jump to conclusions, it’s nothing new to you. everything anyway,” tweeted one frustrated fan.
Other added: “Some of you misread the revival cover commentary because you lacked the context. So please watch the scene properly and notice the real meaning Selena meant.
“Some of you are very strange that Selena says she feels uncomfortable about the revival cover. How sure it’s a very good cover but shaming her for not liking it??? loser,” read another tweet from an angry fan.
