Several million US workers remain unemployed indefinitely

Several million workers dropped from the U.S. workforce during the Covid-19 pandemic plan to stay on indefinitely due to persistent fears of illness or physical impairments, potentially exacerbating labor shortages for years, new research shows.
According to a monthly survey conducted last year by , about three million lost workers say they have no plans to return to pre-Covid activities – whether that be going to work, shopping in person or eating out – even after the end of the Pandemic a research team.
