This is the shocking moment an angry Lidl customer threw a broccoli at a fellow shopper during a heated argument at the checkout.

Footage, shared by sisters Afsaneh and Hanieh, showed a woman yelling at customers and staff after complaining about the slow pace of self-checkout at the Salford store.

Realizing she’s being recorded, she tells the woman behind the camera to shut her mouth before scanning the broccoli and tossing it while Lidl staff stand in stunned silence.

The angry customer can be heard saying, “Wait ’til you’re outside, who asked you to join? Do you actually think I’m screwed? You started it, you idiot.”

In the clip, the angry customer can be seen yelling at the woman recording the clip before waving the broccoli while Lidl staff intervene.

On the aftermath of the ordeal, TikTok user @harnandsarn said: “We now live in a society where we seem afraid to speak out.

“This woman yelled and yelled at an innocent man just because he was on the phone at the self checkout and said he was taking too long.

“No one wanted to speak up to protect him, so I speak up and say calm down and I’ll be fully assaulted.”

The shocking scenes surprised those who saw the clip online, while others were quick to mock the bizarre encounter.
