Sky pundit warns ‘outstanding’ player Tottenham & Liverpool keen on it

Stephen Warnock has warned Tottenham, Liverpool and Aston Villa transfer target Kalvin Phillips that a Leeds United departure could ‘put in doubt’ his World Cup spot.
Warnock says the Leeds fan from youth days is a ‘shoo-in’ for England’s squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
But with the likes of Liverpool, Spurs and Villa all looking to sign him in the summer, the grass might not be greener on the other side.

Phillips doesn’t need to settle into a system at Leeds or he won’t be dropped when he’s not on form.
But former Leeds man Warnock made it clear that leaving his boyhood club could prove problematic. as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.
“Kalvin Phillips is very interesting,” said Warnock. “He has the World Cup coming up and he has interested applicants, which is understandable because he is an outstanding player.
“If he stays in Leeds he plays every week and is the main actor. Then he’ll probably shoo-in into this World Cup to be in Gareth Southgate’s squad.
“If he goes to another club and for some reason it doesn’t work out, system, form or doesn’t settle down and he doesn’t play, then his place in the World Cup squad is in doubt.
“And that’s a big decision to make. That will be difficult for him.”
SURVIVING LEEDS MAY HAVE MADE PHILLIPS’ LIFE MUCH EASIER
If Leeds had slipped back into the Championship it would have been a no-brainer to sell Phillips or continue.
But now they’re still a Premier League side then it probably makes his decision to stay that much easier.
However, it depends on who is knocking. When it comes to a Champions League club, they have a massive call to make.
But with a lot of transfer noise surrounding Phillips and Raphinha, Leeds must do whatever they can to try to keep one of those players.
