Sons of the Forest, the sequel to developer Endnight Games’ chilling survival horror game from 2014, was among the most anticipated releases of 2023, but few could have predicted just how big of a success it would be.

Since its release on Steam Early Access on February 23rd, Endnight has revealed the full extent of its reach; It eclipsed 2 million sales in 24 hours.

To understand how big that is, its predecessor surpassed the five million sales mark by the end of 2018. Though that number will slow after the initial influx of Early Access users, it’s on track to completely wipe the trail of the original Forest in the year.
