Sparkle denies her niece’s claims in court – says she never told her niece to ask R. Kelly to be her godfather
On Thursday, R kelly‘s former goddaughter testified in court as prosecutors say she was the teenager featured in his sex tape that was the focus of his 2008 child pornography trial. During testimony, the woman, identified as “Jane,” shared that she met Kelly through her aunt, who was later identified as singer Sparkle.
While on the stand, “Jane” shared that her aunt, who she claims was romantically linked to Kelly, told her to ask him to be her godfather. After that, things got sexual.
On Friday, Sparkle took to social media to denounce some of her niece’s claims while standing. She shared that she believed these were lies organized by her sister as a method of sabotage.
In her video sparkle read a statement from her phone and said:
“Not everything you heard from my niece yesterday is true. I don’t want to get in the way of this trial, but to testify that I let my niece sit on Robert’s lap and rub his head and that she asked him to be her godfather is an absolute fucking lie. All of you cannot imagine the pain caused by the pain caused by the people you live for and are willing to die for.”
She went on to share that there was another lie that was told on the witness stand saying:
“Robert and I have never been in a romantic relationship. Showing them sabotage is their number one priority…if Robert and I were romantically involved, did you and your mother allow you to start a relationship with him?

As so far Sparkle’s niece “Jane” took the stand Thursday and said when she and Kelly started having sex, she kept it a secret because he told her. When asked if he ever recorded any of her sexual acts, she said yes, saying it started when she was only 14.
