Spurs accept terms on £42m signing, could make bid soon

A move from Nicolo Zaniolo to Tottenham Hotspur is becoming increasingly likely.
It is speculated that Spurs are keen to sign the Roma forward this summer and on Friday it was reported Tiago Pinto is in negotiations in London.
However, the clock is ticking and Tottenham will want to wrap it up as soon as possible.
According to one report, however, there has been a development.
AS Roma Live have reported in Italy that the north Londoners have accepted the Serie A team’s terms on Zaniolo and will decide in the next three or four days whether to make an official offer.
Tottenham accept they either have to spend £42million on the 23-year-old or agree to sign him on a permanent basis next summer if this time a season-long loan can be arranged.
The prospect of a swap deal has also been mooted, but the report says no Lilywhites player will go in the opposite direction as part of the same transaction.
The Premier League club, who started the season today with a 4-1 win over Southampton, released their squad numbers on Friday.
And in that, a notable omission was the number 22, the same number worn by Zaniolo in Italy.
This could of course be a coincidence but the truth is that the prospect of Nicolo Zaniolo joining Tottenham Hotspur is becoming more and more real and it will be interesting to see if the supposed acceptance of Roma’s terms results in a breakthrough.
