Barbie is breaking out of cinema land into home cinemas. Greta Gerwig’s record-breaking film, starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, will be streaming starting Tuesday, but those on the West Coast can see it as early as Monday.

The film follows Barbie and Ken on their journey from Barbie Land to the real world and also stars Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Dua Lipa, Ritu Arya, Michael Cera and Emerald Fennell as Mattel dolls in the flesh and America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt and Will Ferrell as humans, with Helen Mirren as narrator.

Long before Barbie The film, which premiered in July, spawned countless fashion and beauty collaborations, and Airbnb brought back its Malibu DreamHouse (with a Kenergy makeover) to celebrate the film.

The fashion world immediately embraced Barbiecore a year before the film even hit theaters, with designers like Valentino creating bold pink looks for its Fall/Winter 2022 Pink PP collection. During the Barbie During her press tour in Los Angeles, Sydney, Seoul, Mexico City and London, Gerwig and her stars showed off their best looks beyond Barbie Land on the pink carpet. On set, Robbie instituted a weekly “Pink Day” during which she collected fines (donated to charity) from those who failed to wear anything in the film’s signature color.

A streaming date has not yet been announced, but Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav said in a conference call on August 3 that the film will go through the usual theatrical release window. “Look through these windows of economics that have always worked, and we think they work extremely well, and then leave it to Max,” he said. “When [Barbie] continues, Max, we think it will have a very good effect, and in the fall.”

Subscribers to the Amazon Prime or Prime Video services can watch Barbie free when they sign up for the Max Channel, which offers a seven-day trial. After the first week, Max on Amazon Prime Video costs $16 per month in addition to the subscription fees for the Prime membership ($15 monthly or $139 annually) or the standalone Prime Video service ($9 monthly).
