A moment known as the “Rules of Trapping” that kicked off and defined the recently retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady’s illustrious career is now set for the “30 for 30” documentary.
The show will premiere at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on ESPN. But if you don’t have cable, here are a few different ways you can watch “The Tuck Rule” online:

Preview “Tuck Rule”
Twenty years ago, 24-year-old Tom Brady was a little-known reserve quarterback for the New England Patriots to replace the injured Drew Bledsoe.
Brady continued work that started in the 2001 season into the playoffs, and his first playoff game made a lasting mark on his career and the league. He managed to get his team to a match-fixing goal amid a New England blizzard during the 2001 AFC Split against the Oakland Raiders. The Patriots led the Raiders 13-10 with 1:50 to stay on track.
Things nearly fell apart for Brady and his teammates when his former college teammate and Raiders defender hit Brady from behind and sent the ball flying. The referees called it a mess. After reviewing the play, the call was reversed because Brady moved his arm forward to earn a pass and then inserted.
The ruling comes from NFL Rule 3, Section 22, Article 2, Footnote 2, known as the “Tuck Rule”.
“When [an offensive] the player is holding the ball to pass forward, any intentional movement of his arm initiates a forward pass, even if the player loses possession of the ball when he is trying Bring the ball towards his body. Also, if a player sticks the ball at him and then loses possession, it’s a mess,” the rules state.
Brady then led the Patriots with a closing goal, and the Patriots went on to win 16-13 in extra time. The Patriots won the AFC Championship and Super Bowl – the first of six with Brady in quarterback.
Woodson, who played with Brady at Michigan, also had a career in the Hall of Fame and eventually won the Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2011. Brady and Woodson, used to be a college roommatefinally talked about the “Tuck Rule” – something like that.
In the documentary, Brady and Woodson get together more to talk about the moment that has greatly shaped their careers.
“Everybody has a fixed rule in their life. There may be some rules of the trap,” said documentary co-director Ken Rodgers by Chris Bumbaca of USA Today. “This could be the biggest turning point in the history of the NFL because it leads to so much history.”
