‘Survivor’ contestant Xander Hastings Pondering What If It Happened

Survivor 41’s Xander Hastings has found some pretty amazing success in the latest season of the popular reality TV series. So successful that he is sure to win a million dollar prize in the popularity contest. However, as we all know, this did not go as planned.
So are there things that he would do differently if given the chance? There is a moment on Survivor where Xander Hastings thinks would win him in the game, if he just performed differently?
Yes, yes Survivor student said. And, for Xander, it all happened in one fiery moment.
“I coached Heather that whole day. I made sure she knew exactly how to make fire,” Survivor contestant told Entertainment Weekly.
“Of course, there’s always a voice like, ‘Oh my, you’ve been practicing a lot over the months to know that you’re going to be the one to make fire. You can do it in less than six seconds. Every day, wake up, make a fire, go to bed and make a fire,” adds Xander Hastings.

But, the contestant said, it was his soft side and a sense of fear that ultimately held him back.
“I always make fire. And then you see me just hit it once and it lights up,” Hastings explain. “I said, ‘Oh, my God, this could be it. I can just walk in and do it. “But I was scared.”
And, Hastings said, he understands why this decision will be one that the jury is not impressed with.
“My mistake in the game was that I was scared to come in, which I think is a stupid precedent you have to walk in,” he explains. “I understood that the judges wanted me to step in and show that confidence.”
But, he said, it’s confidence he just can’t get at the moment.
“I couldn’t help thinking, ‘What if I went in and lost?’ And then I’m a fool when people say, ‘You could have won if you just got to the end,’ Hastings explain
“And then I was pulling my hair out. People are saying, “You could have won! “I don’t want any questions,” he said. “I want to go to the end. And I need to know if I win or not. ”
Although Hastings has been through these moments quite a bit since his last time competing in Survivor 41, he says he’s fine with how things ultimately went downhill.
“I wouldn’t change a thing,” he said. “Because I played the best I could with the cards I was dealt.”
