Daniel Edgar, 73

Daniel Edgar

Daniel Edgar, also known as the “Creole Patriarch”, has lived in these swamps for three generations. He was born on April 17, 1949 making him 73 years old making him one of the oldest cast members.

After his organic, he owns St. Mary’s restaurant, which is a popular spot for seafood in the area. His grandson Dorien joined the family business and can be seen hunting alligators with him throughout the season.

Troy Landry, 62

No article would be complete without mentioning the king of the swamp, Troy Landry. Troy was born on June 9, 1960 making him 62 years old.

Troy is “one of the best known and most fearless alligator hunters in the bayou… Along with his sons Jacob and Chase and a variety of family members and friends, the Landry gang operates an armada of boats each season to help control the alligator population”

Willie Edward, 38

Willie has been with us since the beginning swamp people and we’ve seen him grow into the man he is. Willie was born on February 25, 1985 and has recently turned 38 years old. Willie hunts with his 19-year-old son, Little Willie, who is ready to prove to his father that he can handle the swamps on his own.

Pickle Wheat aka Pee Wee, 27

When Pickle Wheat (aka Pee Wee, as Tony Landry calls her the king of the swamps) showed up, she quickly became Tony’s right-hand man. Pickle was born on September 21, 1995 making him 27 years old. Despite her young age, she has been hunting alligators with her grandfather all her life.

Pickle shared more about her upbringing in the swamps Louisiana athlete He explained, “Most of the time I grew up I hunted with my dad and my brother… we were the three amigos. Alligator hunting has always been a part of growing up. I think if you spend your whole childhood with it I’m just used to it. I was drawn into this lifestyle. My dad’s grandpa was known for hunting and capturing alligators. I came from a long line.

The family business is very risky, but the interpersonal dynamics and family traditions spanning generations make it what it is swamp people so entertaining and exciting.
