Synduality anime based on the game Bandai Namco is coming to Disney+ in 2023

Synduality looks great and we can’t wait to see the series and play the game.

Bandai Namco appears to be continuing with the combination of game and anime mixed media they first attempted with Scarlet Nexus. This time, this new project is titled Synduality, with both the game and anime set to release sometime in 2023.

Unlike most anime announcements, this one has nothing to do with Crunchyroll. Instead, Synduality will stream exclusively through Disney+. Following this news, a new trailer has been released, which you can check out for yourself below.

While little information is available about the anime on the official website, the Synduality IP was first revealed during September’s State of Play stream, and the PlayStation Blog covered the game in more detail. This is what they say about the story:

The year is 2222. It has been years since Tears of the New Moon, a mysterious rain, poured out and wiped out almost all of humanity. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures that devoured for humans, and mankind fled from danger. As a means of survival, people then build an underground shelter; Amasia. In this newly built dystopian city, in a quest to sustain their existence, they encounter an artificial intelligence named the Magus. Without knowing how things will work out between them, the story of how humans and AI fall together and try to find their truths begins.

Synduality is animated by Studio Eight-Bit, who also created That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Blue Lock. Bandai Namco Filmworks will produce, just like they did for the Scarlet Nexus anime.

Considering the two projects are linked, we likely won’t hear more about the Synduality anime until more information about the game is released. For example, the Scarlet Nexus anime only premiered a month after the game was released. We’ll likely see that pattern again this time.
