Now fans are getting what they were asking for when it was revealed that SZA’s new project will be out in December.

The exact drop date is still under wraps, and this ambiguous announcement notably comes about a week after SZA released an “official teaser” for a hot project called “PPE.”

SZA also released “Shirt” less than 3 weeks ago, although it has already proved to be a major force in their musical catalogue.

Fans are ready and have high expectations

In response to the news that SOS coming our way, Twitter was full of people expressing their unbridled excitement.

One user went so far as to humorously claim that with SZA announcing a new project, “2022 finally makes sense.”

However, with SZA’s notorious reputation for stretching the truth, others expressed doubts as to whether we’ll actually be getting a new album in 2022.

It has also been suggested that if an SZA album is released soon, other stars with long-awaited projects (ie Rihanna, Frank Ocean and Cardi B) will follow suit.

SZA mentioned recording “hundreds of songs” in the process of curating their second album

When asked how many total songs she recorded while working on the project, SZA revealed that she’s definitely been busy over the past 5 years.

“Total? A hundred maybe? I don’t even know actually,” she revealed. “Five years of material.”
