PD: 14-year-old charged in connection with Roebling Bridge bomb threats
COMES. THANK YOU, RANDY. WE’RE LEADING THE WAY WITH BREAKING NEWS THIS MORNING. An all too familiar sight from across the Ohio River. THE POLICE CLOSED THE ROEBLING BRIDGE AGAIN OVERNIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ALMOST DAILY FOR ABOUT A WEEK. WLWT was at the forefront of every incident. WLWT. NEWS 5. DANIELLE DINDAK LIVES NEAR THE BRIDGE THIS MORNING. DANIELLE THAT STARTED SEVEN DAYS AGO. This is the fifth time something like this has happened. What is the condition of the bridge this morning? YES. YES. Good morning, Kelly and Steve. And if you get the feeling of déjà vu, you’re not alone. LAST WEDNESDAY I was out here when first responders rushed to the bridge after a supposed bomb threat call. So we saw them sweeping the bridge. Luckily, no credible threat was found. Our cameras were here again last night as the bridge was closed again for the fifth time in the last week. So watch the video. And since I explained to you more about the alleged threat from last night. NOW THIS COMES JUST 24, 25 HOURS AFTER THE LAST THREAT, THE POLICE STARTED CLOSING THE BRIDGE JUST AFTER 1 AM. LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONDED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE RIVER AND CLEARED THE BRIDGE AND CHECKED FOR ANY SIGNS OF DANGER. They were pretty quick to reopen the road. They did it in less than an hour. That’s compared to an hour and a half yesterday and then three hours for the first time. Now I can tell you that the FBI is investigating three of the incidents. It is still unclear what happened last night. BUT OF COURSE WE WILL CONTINUE TO GET FURTHER INFORMATION FOR YOU. BUT A SUSPICIOUS PACKAGE WAS REPORTED ON MONDAY. AGAIN THE BRIDGE WAS CLOSED. Fortunately, no credible threat was identified at this time. As we receive further information regarding this current situation, we will be sure to pass it on to you.
