Shares of Tesla Inc. rose Thursday after the electric vehicle maker reported its best-ever quarterly profit.
The stock closed up $31.58, or 3.2%, at $1,008.78 per share. Shares traded as high as $1,092.22 at the start of the session, gaining nearly 12% before retreating alongside the broader market.
