This morning the Premier League announced the nominees for March’s Player of the Month award, which included Arsenal jewel Bukayo Saka.

The 20-year-old absolutely deserved his nomination after scoring two goals in four Games when the Gunners scored nine points from a possible 12.

However, another Arsenal player will surely be quite upset that he wasn’t shortlisted.

What’s the matter?

Well, in our opinion, Thomas Partey deserves a nomination.

the £200,000 per week The man was a colossal figure for Arsenal throughout March, playing every minute while helping the Gunners to some big wins.

Partey has netted just once in those four games, but the Player of the Month competition shouldn’t just be about goal contributions.

None of March’s three wins came easily and without the Ghanaian’s defensive prowess the north Londoners might have had to settle for a point in some of those tight games.

Thomas Partey shone for Arsenal

Aside from the 2-0 loss to Liverpool, Partey has been gigantic throughout March.

as who scored shows, the 28-year-old won two tackles, two interceptions and three header duels in the 3-2 win against Watford, as well as three dribbles and 78 successful passes.

After that tie, Partey shone again in the 2-0 win over Leicester, scoring the opening goal before winning the penalty for Alexandre Lacazette to double the lead.

the £45 million One also hit the bar with an outstanding curved effort.

Finally, in a close game at Villa Park, his composure in possession coupled with his physical prowess helped secure a 1-0 win at the Midlands.

Forget goals and assists – Partey was undoubtedly among the best players in the Premier League in March and he deserved a nomination.
