Liverpool are big fans of Gleison Bremer but the Torino defender may be better suited for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur if these comments were made in an interview with him DAZN are all to go.

After all, Jürgen Klopp’s team has played almost exclusively with a back four in recent seasons. Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right, Andy Robertson on the left, Virgil van Dijk next to Ibrahima Konate or Joel Matip in the middle.

However, Tottenham are becoming more comfortable with Antonio Conte’s signature 3-4-3 formation five months after arguably the greatest ‘club manager’ in European football parachuted into the north London hotseat after the Nuno Espirito Santo experiment in Daniel exploded was Levy’s face.

But that doesn’t mean Bremer, one of Italy’s most talented defenders, can’t change his game and adapt to an unfamiliar system should the £21million-rated Brazilian join a Premier League giants in the upcoming summer transfer window.

But adapting to life in a new league and country is difficult enough without also having to adapt to a new style of play.

Liverpool or Tottenham?

Goal reports Liverpool are keen that Joe Gomez’s future at Anfield is uncertain. Corresponding tuttosporta Tottenham side who signed two players from Torino’s city rivals Juventus in January also scouted Bremer in last month’s 1-1 draw with Serie A champions Inter Milan.

As usual, Bremer was colossal that afternoon. He scored from a corner while setting up Inter’s attacking line with his trademark composure and class.

Radiant at the heart of Torino’s three-man defence, the 25-year-old can easily see himself fitting in alongside Cristian Romero at Tottenham.

Especially after Bremer admitted that given the choice, he’d rather play in a back three than a four.

“I prefer a three-man defense,” he admits Football Italy. “Because it fits the system that I’ve proven myself with.”

According to Goal, Inter led the hunt to secure Bremer’s £21m signature. That Nerazzuri have already held talks with former Atlético Mineiro defender.

And what could improve Inter’s prospects significantly is that Simone Inzaghi shares Conte’s preference for a defensive triumvirate.
