A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead at a Blackburn estate.

Lancashire Police said officers responded to reports of a “major attack” at an address in the Mill Hill area around 7.55pm on Saturday night, where they found the woman’s body.

The suspect remains in custody for questioning.

A spokesman for the force told MailOnline: “We were called at around 7.55am yesterday (Saturday 4 March) with reports of a serious attack in the Mill Hill area of ​​Blackburn.

“A short time later the body of a woman was found at an address on Primrose Terrace.

“Your next of kin have been informed and are being assisted by specially trained officers.

“An investigation has been launched and a 30-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

“At this time we are not looking for anyone in connection with the death.”
