The £34m star called Liverpool a “wonderful club” and Salah “special” now Klopp could sign him

Liverpool aren’t known for doing everything in the transfer market or for taking the spotlight like other teams would.

But could the Reds add more faces to their ranks this summer after securing Darwin Nunez’s signature after Sadio Mane departs? Paul Merson shared his fears about the deal.

Well, Real Madrid striker Marco Asensio is someone who could still swap the colors of the La Liga giants for those of Merseyside.

The 26-year-old has previously shared his thoughts on Liverpool and their star right-back Mo Salah.

Back in April, Asensio described Liverpool as a “wonderful” club, adding Salah is a “special” player and a player the £34million star is keen to see. as he told Al-Destur Magazine.

“Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world and has been at the top of football for many years,” said Asensio.

“He’s at a wonderful club like Liverpool, who have fought in great battles for many years and competed to win great titles.

“In short, Mohamed Salah is a player with a special and great talent and a very good left leg, which he plays with distinction. It’s always a pleasure to watch every game he plays in.”

Asensio is someone who can play both in the front three and behind the striker, but with Jurgen Klopp not playing a ten it rules out that option for the Spain international.

In truth, Asensio will overtake the players Klopp currently has available so he would be used as a squad player and that’s probably something the club don’t need at the moment.

If anything, Liverpool will likely need to strengthen their midfield or allow players like Alex Oxlade-Chamerbalin to go to the exit door and then bring in new faces.

There’s been a lot of talk about someone like Jude Bellingham, but maybe he’s someone for next summer because Borussia Dortmund might not be as keen on selling another star player in the same window as Erling Haaland.
