Orel Mangala’s agent has downplayed and spoken to talks of a Stuttgart move with interested Premier League trio West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest SWR Sport.

Despite some big spends in the showcase, West Ham, Palace and Forest are far from done.

All three clubs are still looking for an energetic central midfielder. And Mangala – the 24-year-old Belgium international known for his all-action style and box-to-box skills – is sure to have you covered.

Corresponding IMAGE, Mangala is keen to move to England. Stuttgart’s asking price of £13m is far from unreasonable either. Especially considering West Ham’s other target – Amadou Onana in Lille – would cost more than £30m.

Will Orel Mangala stay in the Bundesliga?

However, Mangala representative Mehmet Eser insists that a longer stay at the Mercedes-Benz Arena cannot be ruled out.

“Orel can imagine staying in Stuttgart. VfB have a strong team that can attack next season,” said Eser.

“There are clubs that want to sign him. But you have to respect the contract in Stuttgart (his contract expires in 2024).

“If VfB is ready to sell him, then we have to talk. We’ve always been treated well here by the presidency and the coaching staff.”

Eser adds that as of today, mangala has the World Cup in Qatar in mind. The former Borussia Dortmund, Anderlecht and Hamburg youngster will only leave Stuttgart for a club that can offer him professional football on a regular basis; A must if he wants to break into Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad.

“Orel needs playing time. The World Cup is his goal,” explains Eser.

“The perspective of the project must be right for the next step. The money is secondary.”
