New evidence has surfaced that Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor was offered at least $15,000 to reprise her role in the upcoming sequel, contrary to her claims that she was only offered $4,000 to star.
A new report from Bloomberg, which has since been confirmed by VGC, citing documents and two people familiar with the negotiations, say Platinum tried to hire Taylor for five four-hour sessions, each costing between US$3,000 and US4,000 dollars would bring in . According to VGC, this would have been a “significant increase” in Taylor’s fee from the second game onwards.
To be clear, I haven’t heard from Platinum Games, its executives, or its PR people, and I suspect, as is usually the case, that the company’s management would not be thrilled that the people involved spoke to me have no matter what the story makes them look https://t.co/YbZysnlIoa

According to the report, Taylor declined those terms, instead demanding a six-figure sum and arrears. After “protracted negotiations,” Platinum then hired Jennifer Hale to play Bayonetta. Taylor reportedly turned down a later offer of a cameo in exchange for the one-session fee.
Taylor, in statements to both Bloomberg and VGC, called the report an “absolute lie” and claimed Platinum was “trying to save her ass and the game.” She also said that she stands by everything in the video.
“I’d love to move on from this whole damn franchise and honestly get on with my life in theatre,” she wrote.
The Bayonetta 3 exploded in sight over the weekend when Taylor tweeted multiple videos claiming she only offered $4,000 to return for the sequel, while urging fans to boycott the game. Director Hideki Kamiya tweeted that it was “sad and unfortunate for the untruthful stance,” while Hale responded that she supports “every actor’s right to be paid well” but “doesn’t have the freedom” to comment on the situation speak.
Speakers from across the industry shared their support for Taylor, Opening up a wider discussion about how actors are paid in gaming. As noted by Reporter Stephen Totilothe SAG/AFTRA union minimum is $1,000 per session with no residuals.
Nintendo has been contacted for comment and this story will be updated with more statements.
