The BLM’s anti-police thug is undone

In the 2021 film Old, a group of vacationers are stranded on a remote beach where the aging process is accelerated. They quickly realize that decades pass in a few hours. Unfortunately, the premise is better than the movie, but it suffices as a metaphor for Black Lives Matter, a movement that’s quickly aged into a racket.
BLM began in 2013 after George Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting of Trayvon Martin. It rose to prominence a year later when Michael Brown was killed in Ferguson, Missouri. According to a national poll published by Daily Kos, support for BLM peaked at 52% in June 2020, a month after George Floyd was murdered by a Minneapolis police officer. Its popularity has since waned, and recent revelations about the organization’s spending habits are unlikely to reverse that trend.
