The Block: Scott Cam vows to ‘help out’ Tom and Sarah-Jane after auction flop

Block moderator Scott Cam says he will do whatever it takes to help Tom Calleja and Sarah-Jane Wilson following their crushing auction day result.

The 59-year-old is devastated that the hard-working team’s efforts were not rewarded when their house went under the hammer and wants to make things right.

He told Woman’s Day that the show’s producers are considering giving the couple a “second chance,” and hinted they will be returning for a future season.

“We’ll find something for them and give them a second chance later,” he revealed.

Scotty said Tom and Sarah-Jane are “probably the hardest working couple” on this year’s The Block.

He found her “bogan” attitude endearing and felt “shattered” when her house sold just above reserve.

Tom and Sarah-Jane took third place in the finals and walked away with a profit of just $20,000 – the lowest profit since two houses brought in $10,000 in 2014.

Her property had a starting price of $4.08 million and sold for $4.1 million.

After the disappointing result, the pair made the difficult decision to sell the Ford Ute they won on the show to make ends meet.

After the finale, the couple took to Instagram to let their fans know they had no choice but to sell their car to make up for lost revenue.

“Unfortunately for Tom, we will be selling the Ford,” they told their 35,000 followers.

Sarah-Jane also told 9Entertainment that the couple had spent a lot of money to fund their time at The Block, so they were now in the red.
