The Block’s Dylan and Jenny won’t get happy endings: Expert says they should ‘cut their losses’

A real estate expert has issued a bleak forecast for The Block’s last remaining unsold home.

Real estate pro Chris Bellesini says it’s highly unlikely Jenny Heath and Dylan Adams’ home will find a buyer willing to come close to its $4.08 million reserve.

Bellesini told Now to Love that the show’s producers “lost touch with reality” when they set reserves so high, and the other four teams were incredibly fortunate that there were publicity-hungry buyers willing to pay such exorbitant prices to pay prices.

Dylan and Jenny’s home is currently listed on the domain website for just $1.63 million, which is less than half the reserve, and it will take a Christmas miracle for the team to hit $4 million approaches.

Mr Bellesini said the three houses sold at auction two weeks ago were “at inflated prices” and their sales did not reflect actual market behaviour.

“These sales were not genuine. Three were sold to Danny [Wallis] for his ego and the fourth for Adrian [Portelli, in a post-auction sale] to advance his business ventures,” he said.

According to Bellesini, Dylan and Jenny were doomed to lose the moment the auction order was decided.

He said her home is unlikely to be sold unless its price is cut well below the $4.08 million reserve.

“It just depends on when Channel Nine and the providers are willing to cut their losses and accept a price well below what they originally wanted,” he added.

Dylan and Jenny are said to be “fighting” to sell their home after becoming the only couple who couldn’t find a buyer either on or after auction day.

The house’s domain listing states: “Created and crafted without compromise, the expansive dimensions of this incomparable family residence seamlessly blend innovative, sustainable design, luxurious finishes and entertainment grandeur.”

Last week, the couple gave fans an update on their home after it was sold at auction.

Jenny and Dylan’s home was handed over, as was Sharon and Ankur’s, although the latter couple completed a private sale less than a week after the auction.

Jenny and Dylan still have to find a buyer by Thursday morning.

The homes on The Block went under the hammer with a reserve of $4.08 million.
