The Boy and The Heron Gets First Trailer, Release Date

A new trailer of Hayao Miyazaki’s mysterious new movie The Boy and the Heron has finally arrived.

You can watch the trailer The boy and the heron, posted below on the GKIDS YouTube channel. The epic trailer shows the film’s World War II setting and the journey of protagonist Mahito. There’s a lot of Studio Ghibli’s signature style and mystery, of course, with some particularly disturbing and amazing images. According to the trailer, the film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 8th.

The film marks the latest and possibly final appearance from Miyazaki, the visionary storyteller and co-founder of Studio Ghibli. There have been many mysteries surrounding the plot of Miyazaki’s latest film, although details have come to light after Miyazaki’s release The boy and the heron in Japan earlier this year. What I know about the film so far leads me to believe that it will offer a compelling storyline as well Tomb of the Fireflies, Isao Takahata’s 1988 animated film for Studio Ghibli. Honestly, I couldn’t be more excited to watch the whole thing The boy and the heron, as I am a big fan of Miyazaki and his films. There’s a real chance this might actually be Miyazaki’s last film as the author is now in his 80s.

Known in Japan as How do you live?, The boy and the heron scheduled for release in North America on December 8th
