The British government says China is trying to poach Brits in sensitive positions

LONDON (Reuters) – Chinese spies have targeted British officials in sensitive positions as part of an espionage operation to gain access to secrets and their expertise, the British government said on Thursday.

“The government recognizes that Chinese recruitment programs have sought to poach British and allied nationals in key positions and with sensitive knowledge and experience,” the government said in response to a parliamentary report that found its approach to the Chinese threat was inadequate.
