The Cards’ offensive explosion fuels a 56-28 victory over Boston College
WELCOME TO SPORTS SATURDAY. THIS IS THE FIRST SATURDAY ON WHICH ALL OUR REGION’S COLLEGE SOCCER TEAMS ARE IN ACTION. I’m KENT TAYLOR. AND I’M DOMINIQUE YATES. WE’RE OPENING THE SHOW AT ELON STADIUM WITH LOUISVILLE’S FIRST SATURDAY HOME GAME OF THE SEASON. A crowd of 48,000 spectators wanted to see how the cars moved on Two And Oh in the ACC. Yes, Jeff Brohm and U of L hosted Boston College this afternoon, and boy was the culprit clicking for the cards. THE HANDOVER HERE TO JAROM JORDAN AND HE STARTS THE JETS. HE BREAKS THE LONG TOUCHDOWN. WE HAVE ONLY SEEN THIS ON EVERY GAME FROM HIM, THAT ONE FROM 33 YARDS FROM SEVEN IS NOTHING. U OF L DEFENSE PLAYING TOO SOLID ASHTON GELATI WITH THE BIG sack getting the ball back for the offense and if they had the ball then what do they do when they scored in the first half? By adding not one, not two with his legs to pump fakes, he himself finds the pylon. IT’S 28 TO NOTHING. LOUISVILLE RETAINS CONTROL IN THE HALF CARDS GOING TO THE KNEELING. NO, IT’S ACTUALLY A FAKE PLUMMER THAT’S GIVEN TO JORDAN. HE GETS A GAIN OF 42 YARDS IN THE PLAY. GOOD FIELD POSITION FOR THE CARS. THE FANS WANTED TO PERFORM IN HOPE OF ADDING SOME POINTS. BROMINE CALLS HIM THE PIECE. IT’S PLUMMER AGAIN. He liked the long ball in this game. HE CONNECTS WITH JAMARI, HAS TWO DEFENDERS ON HIM, 42 TO 14 U OF RUNNING TIME AND AN EXPLOSIVE PERFORMANCE ON OFFENSE. U of L scored points on its first seven possessions. PLUMMER WITH HIS BEST GAME IN A CARS JERSEY AND THE CARDS WON 56 TO 28. THEY ARE FOUR AND ZERO FOR THE YEAR AND TWO AND ZERO IN THE ACC FOR THE FIRST TIME IN SEVEN YEARS. I just think it’s a great team effort. THESE GUYS WORK HARD TOGETHER. THERE ARE NO EGOs. EVERYONE WANTS TO DO WELL EVERY WEEK. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT? SOME DAYS YOU CAN RECEIVE A LOT OF TOUCHES. OTHER DAYS MAYBE NOT SO MUCH, BUT YOU JUST HAVE TO PERSIST AND KEEP WORKING BECAUSE THAT’S HOW YOU BUILD A GREAT, GREAT FOOTBALL TEAM. And I like the effort we’ve had so far. Our guys are getting open and I was able to sit back there and the management did a good job blocking. So it was a combination of a lot of things, but I think that’s part of my game. When I get into trouble I feel pretty dangerous as a defense. As a team, we have to make sure that we don’t let that little guy on our shoulders, that little act of complacency, continue to play itself out every four quarters. And I feel like we’re still chasing that. We knew FLORIDA STATE was a nationally ranked team and we knew how close BOSTON COLLEGE was to them. And we just knew what kind of team we were. WE DON’T REALLY LOOK AT NAMES. We just play our best game and just go out and play. AND WE KNOW WHEN WE PLAY OUR BEST GAME, NO ONE CAN BEAT US. Look at that. PLUMMER WAS ONLY ONE TOUCHDOWN PASS FROM CHRIS REDMOND AND LAMAR JACKSON TO SET THE SCHOOL RECORD OF SIX PLAY IN ONE GAME. It’s a pretty good company. GEORGIA JORDAN had another great afternoon, 18 carries for 134 yards and two scores plus a 75-yard touchdown reception. It’s his third straight game with 100 yards or more. AND AMARI HUGGINS-BRUCE, HE WAS PRETTY EFFICIENT. THREE CATCHES, 110 YARDS AND TWO TOUCHDOWNS, ONE 45 YARDER. We showed it to you too. So a 55 yarder car
