Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of signing Corentin Tolisso could be boosted by claims that Bayern Munich now expect him to leave the club this summer.
This is what the German news agency Sport1 claims that Bayern already expect to lose two midfielders by the end of the season.
Spaniard Marc Roca is likely to leave as he has not had any game action since joining Bayern from Espanyol in 2020.
The other name Bayern are likely to go is Tolisso, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
Bayern had hoped to negotiate a deal with Tolisso But now it looks like the Frenchman will leave the Allianz Arena.
So where could Tolisso end up this summer?
The most likely target looks like Tottenham Hotspur as Fabio Paratici looks for a potential bargain.
Football Italia reported in November that Tottenham were close to signing Tolisso ahead of the January transfer window.
That didn’t happen but Tottenham may have been preparing for a free transfer from Tolisso this summer instead.
Think back to the story of Fabio Paratici at Juventus; He absolutely loved signing players for free transfers.
The likes of Andrea Pirlo, Fernando Llorente, Sami Khedira, Dani Alves, Emre Can, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey were all free signings from Juve in the Paratici era.
It adds up that Paratici is keen to do the same with Tottenham and appear to be anticipating some bargains for Antonio Conte.
Tolisso would fit the billespecially as he cost Bayern a whopping £35m in 2017 but could now be signed for absolutely nothing.
The French world champion is a superb box-to-box midfielder and Paratici could see him as an ideal partner for Rodrigo Bentancur in the future.
Tolisso is only 27 but has suffered serious injuries in his career which means he hasn’t been able to fulfill his potential to the full.
With Bayern expecting Tolisso to leave, Tottenham may have a golden chance to secure Tolisso for nothing.
