A DWTS champion shared some throwback photos.

A Dancing With the Stars champion shared some throwback photos in honor of an honor bestowed on her.

On August 21, 2022, Meryl Davis, who won season 18 of DWTS with her pro partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, announced that she was elected to the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame – Class of 2022. Davis and her on-ice partner Charlie White are scheduled to officially induct on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The event will take place at the Soundboard Theater in Motorcity Casino Hotel.

“@charlieawhite and I have always received so much kindness and support from our fellow Michiganders. What a privilege to represent our home state and the Metro Detroit area for so many years,” Davis commented on an Instagram post that included some throwbacks.

Davis & White has received many congratulations from fans

Davis, an Olympic skater, has known White since she was very young. The two have competed together, winning the gold medal for the ice dance routine at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

“We are proud to join this distinguished group of athletes and contributors to Michigan’s athletics community,” Davis continued. “Thank you for the years of generous support,” she added.

Several people took to the post’s comments section to congratulate Davis and White — and to comment on the epic throwbacks Davis shared.

“Amazing Meryl!!! Congratulations! well deserved”, wrote Para snowboarder and DWTS graduate Amy Purdy.

Another DWTS graduate Adam Rippon dropped in the comments section to leave three heart-eye emojis.

“Love it!!!!!!! Happy birthday to you both!!!! #Legends! Bravo,” someone else added.

“Oh, Meryl! That’s great! So proud of you and being a glutton with you!” said another Instagram user.

“Oh my god I love these throwback pics. too adorable” Read a fan comment.

Davis & White are among the 10 candidates for the Class of 2022

Davis and White will be in good company as the class of 2022 will also include NBA stars Chauncey Billups and Shane Battier, NFL star Antonio Gates, softball star Jennie Ritter, college basketball star Chris Webber, coach University of Michigan John Beilein and NFL television network Mickey includes Redmond and Western Michigan athletic director Kathy Beauregard.

“The class was chosen by the Hall of Fame Electoral Commission, a statewide electoral committee, and the public. The elections task force and committee, comprised of current and former journalists, sports executives and representatives from Michigan’s minor Sports Halls of Fame, was co-chaired by former University of Michigan Assistant Sports Director Bruce Madej and Detroit News sportswriter Tony Paul , headed. The Class of 2022 was ratified by the Board of Directors of the Hall of Fame, who also selected the nominee from the Contributor category.”

“This year’s class represents the excellence, diversity and depth of Michigan’s finest sports history,” said Hall of Fame Chairman Scott Lesher. said in a statement shared on the official Hall of Fame website.

“Thank you to the nearly 4,000 Michigan sports fans who came online to vote and participate in this year’s election process. This class includes all-time greats who are also fan favorites,” added Hall of Fame President Jordan Field.
