Tom Davies has revealed he “hasn’t given it too much thought” regarding his future at Everton. like him ¡Qué Golazo!

The 24-year-old has less than 12 months to complete his current contract and he added he was “more excited” to just get out and play again.

Running through Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, this youngster didn’t really live up to expectations but injuries certainly didn’t help.

However, when asked about his future at Merseyside, Davies shared he was just looking forward to playing against Chelsea.

“I haven’t thought about it too much,” Davies said. “I’m more looking forward to getting back out there and playing again.

“I’m just concentrating on getting fit and playing as many games as possible and then ultimately looking forward to the Chelsea game in the first game of the season.”

On the one hand, the club aren’t exactly in a position to let Davies go next summer and then bring in a big cash transfer.

Everton’s financial chaos means it’s probably better to hand the midfielder a new deal, even if they don’t want that at all.

And while fans don’t want to hear it, neither in pre-season nor in the transfer market are they showing positive signs that they’re going to move on from last season’s disaster.

Richarlison, one of their best players in recent years, is out but with Chelsea visiting in a few weeks they still haven’t signed anyone apart from free transfer James Tarkowski.

There will be some faces that will see Everton go under next season so this will be a big season not just for Davies but for the club as a whole.
