In honor of comic book legend Stan Lee’s 100th birthday, Marvel and Disney have announced a special documentary about the beloved comic book legend, coming to Disney+ in 2023. While Stan Lee’s 100th birthday is in 2022, the special will be released in 2023; To celebrate, Marvel Entertainment released a short video to announce the documentary.
Tragically, Stan Lee passed away in late 2018, leaving him unable to celebrate his 100th birthday. Hopefully the documentary about him will be a big celebration of his life and achievements.
When is the Stan Lee documentary coming to Disney+?
Unfortunately, the exact release date of the Stan Lee documentary has not yet been announced as it is only listed as a 2023 release date.
Also, the announcement trailer for the documentary doesn’t give any details about exactly what this Disney+ special will feature. Instead, it simply features some of Stan Lee’s many cameos, which while they may be part of the documentary, will clearly not be the sole focus of the special, as they’re likely to delve more into the story of True Believer and its contributions to comics.
Stan Lee may be known today for his guest appearances in Marvel films, but what really made him famous was his creation and co-creation of classic Marvel characters and teams like the Fantastic Four, X-Men and, of course, Spider-Man. The Stan Lee documentary has a lot of work to do, so hopefully Marvel and Disney are really up for the task when it comes to Disney+ in 2023.
