The Fortnite patch 10/23/2020 brings a special My Hero Academia Mythic item and a new defense item

We hope Deku’s Smash is on par with Kamehameha.

Leakers are already working hard to provide information on what the new update v23.10 adds to Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1. Two new Mythic rarities will appear, as well as a new defensive item that should fuel you further in Zero Build modes.

We got full confirmation on the Fortnite x My Hero Academia collaboration date yesterday, so it’s no surprise that a Mythic has an appropriate theme. This Mythic is called Deku’s Smash, but we don’t know much about it at this time.

The other Mythic will mean a lot to those who like the Shockwave Hammer, as he gets an upgraded version with the Timeless Champion’s Shockwave Hammer. Presumably, it will become part of The Ageless Champion boss’s loot pool, and players can earn it by emerging victorious from this battle. Judging by the base Shockwave Hammer’s stats, it looks like the only defining feature of the Mythic variant is that it gives you an extra jump before reloading.

The other (and coolest) new defensive item is the Guardian Shield, described as “a portable shield that blocks ballistic fire and explosives.” Can be thrown to provide cover at range.” By the looks of it, the Guardian Shield serves as a mobile shield bubble that will make a big difference in Zero Build when paired with a player’s Overshield.

We get this information thanks to Fortnite Dataminer @HYPEX.

While players can find the Ageless Champion’s Shockwave Hammer and Guardian Shield once the servers come back up, we probably won’t find out more about Deku’s Smash until December 16, when the Fortnite x My Hero Academia event goes live.
