The Sims franchise is known for its deep relationships and whimsical scenarios. And now the Growing Together pack brings more depth to these beloved aspects, adding family dynamics and social skills that can fundamentally change the way the household is run.
The latest gameplay trailer introduces us to the Michaelson family, where we get a sneak peek at the new dynamic that allows players to customize relationships between family members.
You can choose options like Distant, Jokester, Close, Hard, and others while setting up your Sims. For example, those with a close bond will be kind and loving to one another, while difficult status will show more struggles within the household.
Another system that will affect sim families is their latest social compatibility, a factor determined by their likes and dislikes. From the trailer, we can see how this affects the relationship between a father and a son-in-law due to their differences, causing them to attack each other. But of course, not everything is negative, especially when it comes to quality time, and families will simply have to make compromises regardless of their differences.
Additionally, players can look forward to new milestones for different age groups, with achievements like getting married, having a child, and being a happy family. Simmers can also unlock baby accomplishments, including triumphs of standing, crawling, and even getting a dirty diaper, thanks to the upcoming Infants update.
Because of this improvement in family dynamics, players can look forward to more meaningful and personal experiences in The Sims 4, and join in the fun in the latest San Sequoia world when it officially releases on March 16, 2023.
