The Hills’ Heidi Montag stuns fans with new real estate career

Heidi Montag has made a career out of reality TV, but she’s moving on to something new.
The MTV veteran starred in the original incarnation of The Hills from 2006 to 2010 and has appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Famous Food, Marriage Boot Camp and the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother” before coming full circle as a cast member in the 2019 MTV revival “The Hills: New Beginnings.” per IMDb.
When viewers first met Montag in 2006, they were under the impression that she had a regular job at an event services company in Hollywood. Years after starring in the OG series Hills, Montag admitted she actually had a fake job during the show.
2016 interview with BuzzFeed, Montag spilled the beans in a story about her promotion over colleague Elodie Otto at Bolthouse Productions, a company she never actually worked for. “I pretend I worked there, so obviously it was a fake promotion,” she said. “This whole plot was a script.”
All Montag is really known for is reality TV, but she recently threw fans through the loop with the announcement of a new career venture that no one saw coming.

During an appearance on May 19, 2022 on “The Perez Hilton PodcastMontag announced that she is starting a career in real estate because she can no longer rely on a reality TV paycheck. Montag and her husband, Spencer Pratt, have theirs Pratt Daddy Crystals business, but the mother of one wants to make more money.
“I think we need a different income,” Montag said on the podcast. “I don’t want to wait for TV money. We spent way too much of our money.”
Montag said she was preparing for several exams so she could get her real estate license.
“I have classes next week, and it’s like an eight-hour class, and then I have a few other things, and then pre-exams and then exams,” she revealed. She also teased that her husband might follow her path as a real estate agent, but that she’s trying first.
“Now that I’ve decided to do it, Spencer is like, ‘Oh, I’m going to do it too!’ I’m like, ‘Great, we can both do this,'” revealed Montag. “I already have a big agency that said I could come and work for them and study with them,” she added.
It’s no surprise that fans had a huge reaction to Monday’s surprising career update.
“It’s not easy,” one fan tweeted to the MTV star. “If you’re aggressive, that’s a great idea.”
“That’s great Heidi, you’re going to be the best agent ever. Good luck to you and Spencer forever,” another wrote.
“It’s good that you got a job. Your husband should too,” a third said added.
Others wondered if Montag wanted to combine real estate and reality TV by getting involved with “Selling Sunset.” The Netflix hit follows a group of stunning luxury real estate agents in West Hollywood.
“Heidi Montag talking about going into real estate must be like that she can try to do Selling Sunset,” said one commenter speculated.

Montag’s news came just as it was announced that “The Hills” is returning to MTV — with a new cast

Monday’s new career news came on the same day as the big announcement for The Hills. The Hills: New Beginnings revival followed the Montag Pratts for two seasons, as well as fellow original stars Brody Jenner, Audrina Patridge, Whitney Port, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, and more. In January 2022, MTV announced that the reality reboot would not be returning for a third season. per kind.
But on May 18th appointment reported that the Paramount Network has greenlit a new series, The Hills: Next Gen, which will feature an all-new, younger cast.
Montag and her husband were probably not surprised by the move. Months before the show’s cancellation, Pratt to the “Unpopular” podcast that The Hills: New Beginnings “is not being renewed, it’s not even a maybe.”
“You would have to hire another production company, this production company wouldn’t even do it,” said the Pratt Daddy founder. “You’re not even going to mess with this cast, there’s no way. I think it would be like Gossip Girl with a new cast of kids. This is the only chance.”
As soon as the revamped show was announced, Pratt posted a tiktok video saying he was “excited” for the new show “because the cast he was a part of was ‘hot trash.’
