Goal journalist Charles Watts reported on it Youtube channel that Mohamed Elneny will leave Mikel Arteta’s arsenal at the end of the season.
The well-known and respected journalist has claimed Elneny will leave Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer of 2022.
The 29-year-old Egypt international is a defensive midfielder out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season and there is no new contract at the moment.
Mohamed Elneny will leave Arsenal
said Watts on his Youtube channel: “Mohamed Elneny makes a free transfer. He will be gone.”
In our opinion, there is no way Arsenal will hand Elneny a new contract.
The season will come to an end in just a few weeks and if the Gunners were desperate to keep the former Basel player at the Emirates Stadium for next season and beyond, they would have made it clear by now.
Or at least tries.
Elneny doesn’t appear to be in Arsenal manager Arteta’s plans.
There’s no point in Arsenal keeping the midfielder and letting him go would help the Gunners save on his wages.
Elneny scored a goal in 76 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
