The LA Rams signed Carson Wentz to replace the injured Matt Stafford

The Los Angeles Rams looked through all possible candidates and came up with a new quarterback. According to multiple sources, the Rams did signed free agent QB Carson Wentz. The former No. 2 overall pick in 2016 most recently suitable for Washington and remained on the sidelines during the offseason.
Wentz started seven games for the Commanders last year, winning just two and throwing for 1,755 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The previous season in Indianapolis was much better, but when the team failed to make the postseason and lost its final two games, the owner lost Jim Irsasy had seen enough by Wentz and sent him away.
Looking back at the 2016 draft, Wentz was considered a franchise QB who would one day be one of the NFL’s best. Well, that day never came and Wentz is now considered a loser. Some may call him a bust, but he had a few good seasons where it looked like he was turning things around.
One of the biggest factors for Wentz on every team he has played for in the NFL is the lack of leadership and overall attitude. There’s just something about Wentz that turns off most people at all three stops. For the Colts, it could have been more due to Irsay’s impatience, but either way it didn’t work out and Wentz was done after one campaign.
So for the Rams to get Wentz, it has to be bad. Despite being injured, Matt Stafford could reportedly return for LA’s Week 11 game against Seattle. Stafford missed Sunday’s loss to Green Bay because of a thumb injury. Brett Rypien entered the game and the offense scored a field goal. Having a veteran former starter and Pro Bowlers like Wentz in the squad gives the coaching staff more confidence if Stafford misses more games.
For Wentz it is the third and second chance to stay in the league. Since the Rams have a bye in Week 10, this gives Wentz a chance to learn the playbook in case Stafford is unable to play the following week. Wentz may not give this organization the best chance, but experience should count for something. And every time Wentz takes the field with the Rams, it should be seen as a showcase for the rest of the NFL.
Baker Mayfield was able to save He took over his backup role with the Rams last season as a starter in Tampa Bay. Mayfield had one good game in four starts with the Rams and everyone lost their minds like he was the second to something great. So Wentz should take advantage of this opportunity if he wants another chance to start in this league next season.
