The Liverpool striker is now working with a specialist after scoring just one goal in 2021/22

Harvey Elliott is now working with shooting specialist Scott Chickelday to make his mark in the Premier League.

What’s the matter?

Well, the 19-year-old just scored one target one 12 Appearances last season after suffering a gruesome ankle injury at Elland Road.

Elliott was making good progress under Jurgen Klopp before that untimely incident but now he is clearly keen to speed things up having hired a specialist to help him.

Chicelday – who manages Billericay Town – is also working with Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins and, based on footage released online, Liverpool No 19 is thriving.

Chicelday described Elliott as a “hotshot” on Twitter, but also claimed his ability was an “absolute joke” — in a nice way, of course.

Below is footage of the teenager working under the Billericay Town boss.

Sky Sports He managed to speak to Chicelday, where he mentioned that Elliott typically employs a “wrap shot,” where he tends to curl his foot around the ball rather than smashing it.

Chiplday said: “Shot choice is important. We try to base a lot of the shooting decisions on the goalie’s movement, so we use goalies when we can. If this is not possible, we use a target screen. We use different angles, different parts of the foot, different parts of the range.

“Harvey has a finishing shot of sorts, so we’re working on that a lot. With Ollie we are working on a top shot.”

Clearly, Elliott has found a trainer obsessed with the finer details, which is great to see.

Harvey Elliott can score Hatful for Liverpool

In our view there is no reason Elliott can’t score many goals for Liverpool.

The England Under-21 international has already claimed he can score 15 or 20 goals for the Reds this season and while we’d be surprised if he hits that tally, he can definitely score in double figures.

Aside from the fact that Elliott is incredibly talented, he also tends to play as the No. 8 coming from the right, pinched by Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Surrounded by such quality, we believe Liverpool’s No 19 will find himself in some fantastic areas, having two of the best sources of creativity at his disposal.

Hopefully Elliott can avoid another serious injury and move into the 2022-23 season.
