The man from Newton-le-Willows becomes the owner of a barber shop

Jamie Baines opened his own shop, JB Barbers, on Acorn Street this morning after an opportunity arose to take over the former Barber Shop business.

Jamie started barbering when he was 16 but later enlisted in the army for several years before returning to barbering after lockdown.

“The salon owner next to Namaste was an opportunity for me to open this barber shop for the first time, so I jumped in at the deep end.

“It’s exciting, but also nerve-wracking, but you never know unless you try it.

“You’re never too old to reinvent yourself; if you have ambition, you should do it.”

Jamie has been welcomed by other businesses in Newton-le-Willows and has received positive feedback from locals.

Further renovations to the premises are planned, including a new sign for JB Barbers.
