Phil Foden has spoken Sky Sports ahead of the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday.
The England international had plenty of praise for the Reds, particularly Trent Alexander-Arnold.
What’s the matter?
Well, Foden admitted he loves watching No 66 Liverpool play and believes he’s one of the best passers he’s ever seen.
Speak with Sky Sports, the Manchester City number 47, said: “Trent, I love the way he passes the ball. I think he’s one of the best passers I’ve ever seen. I enjoy watching him play.”
Foden obviously has a lot of respect for Alexander-Arnold – in truth, it’s hard not to appreciate the 23-year-old’s talents.
To record 19 Goal contributions from right-backs are not easy and it takes a special player to be able to do that and that is Alexander-Arnold.
Liverpool need Trent Alexander-Arnold in top form against Manchester City
If Liverpool can beat the Citizens at Etihad Stadium it would be a simply monumental result.
To beat Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp needs all of his players to bring their A-game, especially Alexander-Arnold.
As we saw against Benfica – and in many other games – the Liverpool-born maestro has the vision and ability to change a game from within his own half, as he did when he delivered a stunning pass to Sadio beforehand Mane’s goal played.
Manchester City tend to press high. So if Alexander-Arnold finds a way to play through the press and find players like Mane or Mohamed Salah with a long ball, it could help Liverpool find openings.
Whatever happens, it’s sure to be one of the most exciting Premier League games in recent memory, with so much at stake.
