It may look like Genshin Impact on the surface, but Wuthering Waves looks like it has its own personality.
Chinese developer Kuro Game has released a new video about its upcoming open-world action RPG Wuthering Waves.
The game, which looks very similar (at least superficially) to the popular Genshin Impact, was revealed back in May and recently appeared at the Tokyo Game Show, which drew quite a bit of attention (I actually wanted to try it, but the queue was way too long).
The video begins with a general introduction to the game, which is an open-world action role-playing game with super-fast combat and gathering elements.
One of its interesting aspects is the ability to traverse the environment very freely, including running up vertical walls. Funnily enough, we see later in the video how this caused some problems during the development process and caused some interesting glitches.
We also take a look at the world creation, with beautiful concept art and a look at different biomes.
Thanks to a technical test, the development team optimized the game based on the feedback and developed a new storyline. This includes more characters, challenging elements and interesting environments.
We learn that this is the first video in a series, and next time we’ll get an overview of the combat system.
In the meantime, you can watch it below. Wuthering Waves will be released for PC, iOS and Android sometime in the future.
